Preparing for KLEE 2023
The Kerala Law Entrance Examination (KLEE) 2022 question paper has put forward many new aspects on KLEE exam pattern. It is important that students preparing for their KLEE 2023 take note of these new developments. This will help them to prepare in the right direction.
Remember – It is not just extensive studies but also smart approach that will see you through in a competitive law exam like KLEE. At the same time, a take it-as-it-comes outlook has to be side stepped. From the beginning itself KLEE was not an exam restricted to a specific syllabus like JEE or KEEM. Add to it the many surprises and twists of KLEE 2022. The message is loud and clear. Do not take things for granted.
To start with, let us analyze some of the noticeable aspects of KLEE 2022 –
- First of all, the 2022 Kerala Law Entrance Exam was tougher than previous years. There is no two ways about it. Let us face it and accept that fact! This includes both three year and five LLB entrance exams. All aspirant-students having appeared for KLEE 2022 will vouch for this. This is more so true in the case of three year LLB exams. The very fact that almost 1200 candidates were disqualified in the KLEE 2022 five year LLB is very much a concrete proof of this.
- The English section was the biggest surprise. There were almost 20 questions on passage based comprehension. The passage content demanded a good level of vocabulary knowledge and speed reading. In that sense, it can be said that KLEE and CLAT English passage comprehension question had a thin differential level. The questions were asked in a scattered format and not in a sequential manner- Maybe a tad unfair to the students.
- There is no assurance that a fixed syllabus pattern will be presented in the KLEE five year and three year exams. It is mandatory for every probable LLB aspirant candidate to take this notion out of their thinking. One must be prepared for a new topic in any one of the sections- Legal, English, Current affairs and GK, Mental ability. Alternately the possibility of existing topics being asked with more emphasis is also very likely. The latter was visible in KLEE 2022.
- Overall, the message is very clear from KLEE 2022 five year and three year. Legal sector aspirants will be tested in-depth over their knowledge and understanding levels of all the sections. They need to understand the questions given to them, both in its knowledge and analytical aspect. To add-on, the command over English as a language will be permanent prerequisite. There may not be too much leverage in this aspect.
- On the administrative aspect, there is a certain level of uncertainty associated with the dates. Especially if one were to go by the last three years and in the background of a Covid based scenario. The three year KLEE LLB exams took place in end of September 2022- A first time perhaps but not a last time in all probability. Now that Covid scare has been settled, there can also be an early date announcement. So, one must be prepared for all eventualities.
Preparation steps for KLEE 2023
- Getting into the groove early is a necessity and not something to be just evaluated. There are not many options here. If you think that a last two to three month preparation is fine, it is skewed thinking. It is good to ALSO have a crash course but not good to have JUST a crash course. This is a blunder many students are committing and let this not be the case for KLEE 2023. Start early, start with confidence and forge ahead.
- As mentioned earlier, the exam pattern is changing drastically. Students should have a multi-pronged approach. There may be new topics that need to be studied from scratch or there may be certain topics known but requiring more focus. For example comprehension – It requires extensive practice. It also demands a good grasp of English as a language. This means more and more tests. At least, till we become battle hardened.
- Battle- ready means not just depth knowledge of the subjects but also strategizing with the right type of answering pattern. Needless to say with good speed as well. It is as much necessary to know what not to answer as what to answer. Negative marking is a major dampener in KLEE and it has to be tackled carefully. All these are possible by continuously giving actual and mock test papers, that too online. Through real time exam environment practices, every student will be ready to enter the actual exam hall on the day.
- Remember that it is not just KLEE but also a preparation for some of the best LLB entrance exams in India. These include – CUSAT, JMI, AMU, BHU, DU, Kannur and MG University, Symbiosis and others and others. Not to forget the CUET Exams for LLB and other course subjects that have a similar pattern for sections like mental ability, GK, English. A focused approach is a sure ticket to all these competitive LLB exams.
